A little about me
I am a wonderful combination of over 50 years of experiences, ups and downs! Each one of those experiences gave me bits and pieces, kind of like a jigsaw puzzle, of who I am today.
Having explored communication, natural healing modalities and neuropsychology for the past 20 years, I have thrown myself full measure into studying what it is to be a human being.
I have worked in conflict management, conflict mediation, coaching, mentoring, teaching in communication skills & social and emotional intelligence, social services, and the addiction field.
Let’s meet and share your life’s jigsaw puzzle to see if together we can put together a resilient, beautiful picture.
“Cara is a wonderful instructor and coach. Her calm demeanor is contagious. She was so interactive during our coaching sessions and has made herself available throughout and after our sessions. ”
— JACQUELINE MORRIS BELL, MA LSW - Office of Families and Children, Ohio
COACHING
My goal to always to focus on YOU…Your life and how you desire to live it.
Coaching is a process through which an individual can learn resilience, grit, and become aware of and become a master of their life. Coaching may also help individuals develop skills that will enable them to cope with life stressors, express themselves effectively, and maintain positive interactions in personal and or professional relationships. Resilence coaching benefits individuals by assisting in managing stress and preventing burnout. This will help the individual recognize signs and sources of stress, develop coping strategies and self-care practices, balance work and personal life, set healthy boundaries, and prioitize tasks.
I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from Metropolitan University of Denver and a master's degree in communications and conflict management with a focus on neuropsychology from Regis University. These academic achievements were not the beginning nor the end of my educational journey to quench my thirst for the understanding of what it means to be a human being !
My coaching style is flexible, organized and focused. I understand and honor each unique individual perception and my goal is to understand this perception and shift together to expand into a healthy, gritty perspective. This expansion assists the individual client to grow in resilence, grit and the ability to assist others in growth.
Endorsement
"You provided me with the confidence it took to give life another try! If it wasn't for that extra push, I would still be in the same mindset I have maintained since I was 16 years old.
The fact that you believed in me made me want to try harder to achieve what I thought was never possible.
On behalf of not only myself, but from my daughter as well, thank you for providing us with a better life, brighter future, and making my dream a reality.”
— P.J. Woods, C.E.O. Hardmore Corporation
MENTORSHIP
My philosopy in work and life over the past 40 years, whether I am teaching, coaching, working in management or interacting with family and friends is to strive towards being a steward of humanity. So what does this mean? Becoming a steward of humanity means taking responsibility for the well-being of our fellow human beings. It involves recognizing that we are all interconnected and that our actions have an impact on others. This calls on each of us to use our resources, skills and knowledge to make a positive difference in those with whom we connect. The goal of a steward leader, coach or therapist is a noble goal and one that requires to be mindfulness of actions, words and thoughts.
As a mentor I will be available for mentorship for those who would like to reflect on their journey and together exam options…leaning on each of our knowledge skills and resources. This is not necessarily coaching or therapy because we walk together and learn to notice the bits and pieces of gifts spread along the path as we move forward.
Let me know if you are interested in this journey.
p.s. In the near future I hope to also offer mentorship towards ICF certification for those of you who might be interested. Stay POSTED !
